and finally, dodie and some flowers

We were at our friends' house the other day showing previews to them from their session and as we were leaving, j. picked some flowers for us. They were too pretty to just let sit, so I took them and my most cooperative model, Dodie, out and did a few pictures. It was fun to do something else different!

...and now for something completely different...

I met up with my buddy Shawn of Gypsy Isle Photography in Pensacola who had arranged for us to have two models to do some beach sessions with. Check out her blog for her shots, too! Kappie and Summer were awesome (a far cry from dogs...although I did catch myself saying "stay" a lot). We had such fun with these two. They are both beautiful and so much fun! So, without further ado (I know you are anxious, Summer!) here are a few sneak peeks for you:

visit to the pug chateau

The Pugs and I got to take a trip to Florida to visit a couple of friends and their twelve dogs (eight Pugs and four Chihuahuas). It was so amazing...you'd never know there were sixteen dogs in the house (you know, including my four). All of the pugs pictured here are rescues...some with stories that broke my heart. And a couple of them stole my hearts, too! Especially a little boy who likes to steak shoes and chew things and a regal lady "in retirement" at the "Pug Chateau". So here are a few shots from our incredible trip. We were spoiled rotten while we were there and I think the Pugs were sad to come home! Thanks so much for the great time! Oh, and if you are looking for harnesses, collars, clothes or practically anything else for smaller dogs, please visit the Pug Chateau online!

beautiful mississippi weddding

I got to travel back "home" a few weeks ago to photograph my sweet friend's wedding. Katie is a photographer herself so the pressure was on! Just kidding, actually it was the most relaxing and fun wedding I've done in a while. But that could be because I got to see so many old friends! Anyway, here's a sneak peek of Katie and Chris's beautiful day:

beautiful sunday morning...beautiful baby girl

This was L's first session with me and she was perfect! We scheduled an early morning session and she was in a great mood. She is such a good natured baby and her sister was the biggest helper. Both of them were just wonderful (big sister got in a few shots at the end). L's mom and dad (and sister) are the sweetest family - L is a lucky little girl! So here she is....Miss L!

k and j at calloway gardens

This weekend, I went to Calloway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA to take pictures of two of my favorite kids ever (and I have been lucky enough to have taken pictures of them regularly). We made a day trip out of it and had a great time. While going through these and picking a few for this sneak peek, a lot of them seemed to have a timeless, almost old fashioned look to them, so I processed some of them with that in mind. So here is J, (I know, she's a familiar face!) and her baby brother, K. I think K knows all the secrets of the world. He just looks so wise.

sunday afternoon...what could be better than 2 pugs?

I was so excited to do this session on Sunday with Daisy and Dakota! I have been talking to their dad about doing their session since November and we finally got a great day for a double-pug session! Daisy is six and is quite the lady of the house. So full of personality and very, very smart. She can sit, lay, shake, roll over and speak. I wish I'd had a camcorder - that roll over was the cutest thing ever. And Dakota - he's a four-month-old full of puppiness and total cuteness. Such a sweet boy. So, here you go - a peek into an afternoon with Daisy and Dakota!

this one's with the fisheye - it makes them look like they're on top of the world!

...aren't they great?

...and sunday's session.

Then on Sunday, I got to do a session with three gorgeous Dobermans. One red, one fawn, and one black. They were just amazing; elegant and poised, but playful and silly. They are really wonderful dogs! Isabel, the red one, is 11 1/2 and is as sweet as she can be. Ingrid, the fawn one (she looks kind of like a Weimaraner, don't you think? She gets mistaken for one.) is young, playful and sweet. And Josie, their newest, the black one, is so sweet and such a puppy still. These girls were all wonderful. I think their pictures will speak for themselves!

saturday's session

This was a housefull of one Doberman, one Jack Russell and two cats and they were all very individual (and I love that)! Each one had his/her own distinct personality and were just wonderful to work with. Lola, the Doberman, was playful and full of life (and I learned later that she had been in horrible shape when her mom first adopted her - so that makes her all the more amazing); Alex the Jack Russell was the typical old man (yep, I loved him...you know I love the old gentlemen dogs) who did things his own (very sweet) way, and the "cat couple" (they are married, of course) were elusive and stubborn, in typical cat fashion, although Eddie (the tabby cat) was actually quite social. And I am pretty sure that Pearl, the calico, enjoyed watching the humans do strange things to entice her to come out from under the bed. Well, she enjoyed that and the catnip...

pugs on parade 2008

On April 26, Alabama Pug Rescue and Adoption held the annual Pugs on Parade at Oak Mountain State Park near Birmingham. It is always so much fun and this year was no exception. Great pugs everywhere, great pug people, and great food. And beautiful weather despite ominous forecasts. Here are a few of the day's session shots plus a few extras. I would have loved to post every single dog - they were all amazing! Many of the following pugs are some of APRA's happy endings, which makes it even better!
