family.

This is a great family I got to photograph this weekend. It was a gorgeous day and the weather could not have been more perfect. They have four dogs - two Boston Terriers and two Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies (with HUGE feet!) and were all in all one of the sweetest families I have met so far! So here are a few from their session:

news!

Just a few quick updates.  I have been booked solid for the month of October, which is a great thing, but it has caused me to be a bit slower in getting galleries up.  So your patience is much appreciated!  I just want those of you waiting on galleries to know that I am working on getting something to you soon!  And I do appreciate the opportunity to work with you!

October has been full of events, weddings and portrait sessions; and it's not over yet!  I went to Birmingham for Pugs and Pumpkins for Alabama Pug Rescue and Adoption, a rescue organization that is near and dear to my heart since I am a volunteer and have adopted two pugs from APRA.  We did Santa photos (see post below) and had a great day.  This Saturday, October 27, I am off to another pug event, Pugfest in Lawrenceville, GA, which is a fundraiser for Southeast Pug Rescue and Adoption .  I will have a booth there, displaying some work and will be offering a special session fee for those who schedule a  dog session on that day and prepay.  A portion will also be donated to SEPRA.  And my pugs, Dodie, Munchkin, and Buddy, will be in attendance!  I also am donating a session and collection for their silent auction, so be sure to look for that!

And I am doing mini-studio sessions again this year in Lilburn at funnybones doggie daycare on  Friday, November 2, 2007 starting at 9am.  I am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces from last year and some new ones, too!

I am anxiously awaiting the newest issue of Doggie Aficionado magazine...because my dog photography is scheduled to be featured!  I am very excited about this and cannot wait to see it in print.  So...pick one up when they come out!

And I have a beautiful display going up at Piedmont Bark of owner, William's dogs...they are just fantastic.  And their pictures are not too bad, either!  If you are in the neighborhood, check them out.  They have a great facility and Sebastian (Chief Operating Dog - COD) is always happy to see new people and dogs!

And that's about it...whew!  Now, I've got to get to work!

also last weekend...

I got to take pictures of a wonderful family and their two beautiful children. I took pictures for them last year, before the baby was born, so it was great to see her and how much her big brother had grown up. They were funny and sweet and it was really a pleasure! Here are the kids:

pugs, pumpkins and santa

Last weekend I was at Oak Mountain State Park near Birmingham, AL for Pugs and Pumpkins, one of Alabama Pug Rescue's annual events. This year we decided to do Santa photos for the pugs since it is getting to be that time of year (already!). So here are two that are in rescue, waiting for their forever homes, and one who has found her perfect (and I hear, rules her house). Oh, and Santa was fantastic. He handled up to five pugs at once!

medium format film

So I was all prepared to buy another body for my Bronica medium format camera (I already have three) because I was sure something was wrong with it. The one I found was at Showcase in Atlanta, so today when I was going to get it, I went to the store and a very nice guy named Roger showed me that it was user error that was causing the camera not to work. So, I got by with just buying film (well, maybe a few more items as well...) and tried the Bronica out. And here is what I got:

When you are needing anything photo-wise, you really need to visit them! They rock! (And have I mentioned how much I adore film?)

mr. bear

This is Bear. He is a sweet, sweet boy whom I could have just sat and petted and played with all day. He was such a sweetie. And he did a great job "working it" for the camera, to his mom's surprise, I think! Enjoy!

last weekend's gorgeous wedding

So last weekend I had the great pleasure of traveling to Orange Beach, AL for a wedding. It was beautiful, fun, and sweet. The rain held out until we ran (faster and for longer than I thought I could!) to the pavillion. The clouds just before the rain were an amazing backdrop, though...it was all very much worth it! Jill and Steve were one of the sweetest couples ever and the whole event was just a lot of fun. Also, my friend, Shawn Bumgarner helped me out. Check out her blog for some of her shots! OK, here are a few of my favorites from the day:

AND some dogs...

The first dog is Hannibal, and he has cancer. He is getting treated and responding well, and is the sweetest guy. He keeps up with his dog and cat "siblings" and is oen of the sweetest dogs I've met. Here he is along with some of his brothers and sisters:
